YourPCM Version 2 is on target for a January 2025 launch!CREATED BY STEFFI LEWIS Completely rewriting a SaaS product is a long and arduous task and should never be undertaken lightly. Our development team have been creating YourPCM version 2 (or just V2 as we call it) over the past few months ... Your PCM V2 soars, A symphony of data, Harmony to my mind We're very pleased to say that they're on target to complete the build by the end of November, ready for testing in December. And this means we can launch on schedule on the 1st of January 2025. So why are we rebuilding YourPCM?Well, the database was first coded back in 2020 and needed a lot of compromises to shoehorn in all the functionality we needed. There were more tweaks as we built other features into it like Discovery and Mailers so it's looking a little tired right now and, of course, this is affecting performance. Now, there's a whole world of difference between a lack of performance from a developer's perspective compared with that of a subscriber. We just wanted to get ahead of the curve and rebuild it from the ground up with new design techniques and better optimisation with the underlying SQL database we use. And we wanted to build in a lot more Artificial Intelligence!However, the AI needed to actually do stuff rather than be there for the sake of saying "We've got AI built-in"! It is quite subtle in places and sometimes you won't even notice it's there, but it helps you when you use the various parts of YourPCM version 2. You can now use AI to build custom SMS and Custom email messages as well as it being involved with the Discovery process, properly formatting addresses, deciding if a phone number is a landline or mobile and even guessing names from the underlying email address. YourPCM version 2 can even write your blog posts, build your social media posts and create imagery for you! Ok, that's when you know it's there, the rest of the time it works behind the scenes. We're going international! We're pleased to announce that V2 will no longer be limited to just the United Kingdom, but also be available in Ireland, USA, Canada, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. The AI in our updated Discovery tool now understands where you are and where you're searching and adds international phone numbers where appropriate. So watch this space!We're onto the final module which is the HTML mailing list system and we're adding a powerful template builder which will improve the designs of mailers created by our subscribers and ensure better deliverability overall. Our developers estimate V2 is 82% complete. It will be finished by the end of November, then it's into testing, tweaking and converting our existing V1 subscribers into V2. Then there's the new website, signup pages and marketing collateral, but that's a project for Christmas so we'll talk about that closer to the time. We hope you enjoyed our development update.
